Practice description

I work in the here and now. Helping clients to gain personal understanding of perspective, paradigm, choices and how to effectuate change. Through support and non-judgmental talk, clients exploration of self, value, meaning and abilities are available to explore.

My practice is built on self acknowledgement and understanding of the individual, one operates within a larger system, i.e. family, work and community. Taking responsibility for choices and reflections of consequences and possible future changes.  Self empowerment is the cornerstone of my philosophy and practice.

About me and my therapy practice

I have 15 years experience in counselling.  I have trained around the world, working with many different cultures and issues.  I have a BSc Hons in Psychology and a Masters Counselling.  Currently I am working for the NHS and the Healthier Wales Transformation Fund and maintain a private practice.

I work in a person centred, solution based fashion. Striving to achieve a collaborative approach in supporting clients as well as guiding counsellors in the way they work and maintain their own mental wellbeing.  Giving supportive encouragement in work that is done well and highlighting areas that may need developing.  Offering guidance on alternative ways to work, while discussing ethical issues to ensure that all work remains within professional guidelines.
