About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified, experienced counsellor and psychotherapist.

I am committed to creating a powerful reflective space between us, in which all aspects of your life can be thought about and explored safely- even the most difficult experiences and feelings.

Counselling should be as individual as you are, so we will work together to make sure you set the aims and focus of the work and can feel that progress is being made.

I work online, on the phone or face to face in Hove

My fee range is £60-80. You choose what you can afford within this range.

ABOUT ME

For over 20 years, I have worked in a range of roles alongside people from many different backgrounds, to help them improve their lives. I have qualifications in counselling and psychotherapy, psychology, education, coaching and leadership and management.

I am trained in trauma informed practice, suicide prevention, working with survivors of childhood abuse and those living with complex trauma.

I have experience of working with people with the gift of neurodiversity, including ADHD and ASC.

I have worked with numerous clients with complex mental health diagnoses, including BPD and EID.

Practice description

My aim is to be welcoming and open, kind and clear. Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming- my hope is that the therapy itself is a fruitful mix of challenge and nurture.

I tailor my approach to suit you, and am committed to being flexible and reflective.

I am trained in psychodynamic thinking, which means I have a special interest in how early life experiences can impact on us as adults. Additionally, I believe that understanding how the unconscious affects us in everyday life can support us to understand ourselves better,

I am also influenced by:

Authentic Relating/ Circling- Being present with what comes up in the moment in our relationship and offering reflections from this standpoint

Gestalt Therapy- allowing experiences, thoughts and feelings to be fully expressed and witnessed

If you are not sure if counselling is right for you at the moment, or whether I could help, please get in touch and I will be happy to make a time to talk it through with you. I will never try and persuade you to have counselling or psychotherapy.

My first session

The first session is a chance for you to see if working with me would be the right decision for you. It allows us to look at the reasons you have come for therapy and why you are choosing this point, discuss what your aims might be and how we can work together. This session is the usual length of 50 minutes and will be the usual cost.

If you would prefer a 25 minute meeting on Zoom to have a more general discussion, this can be arranged for half the fee of a full session.
