About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my directory profile. I hope you find all of the information you need, please contact me if you have any queries or would like to book an appointment.
Counselling provides you with a supportive, confidential and safe environment where you will be valued and listened to in a respectful and non-judgmental way. An effective form of therapy, it can help you make positive changes to your life and deal with any issues that may feel overwhelming or are causing you emotional pain, unhappiness or stress. It can help you explore difficult issues and gain more insight into understanding yourself and your problems whilst finding solutions that are right for you.
I am an experienced counsellor, supervisor and trainer, working mainly from a Person-Centred modality whilst using an integrative approach (using techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Attachment Theory and The Rewind Technique for trauma (PTS/PTSD/CPTSD) to support each client in the best way for them. I have experience counselling a wide range of issues including low self-esteem and confidence, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress, specializing in trauma and abuse. I believe that everyone has the ability to reach their unique, full potential and lead a fulfilling life in a way that is right for them.
I will soon be offering Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy. Working with beautifully intelligent and intuitive horses creates a deeper level of understanding about our emotions, interactions and behaviour. Proven to be especially beneficial for trauma and for those looking to improve teamwork and leadership skills. Watch this space for further details!
I am fully qualified, insured and a registered member of the governing body of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and am on the accredited register of the Professional Standards Agency.
I have a clear Enhanced DBS Certificate.
Practice description
I offer both short term and longer term individual counselling and personal therapy sessions for student counsellors. I work with businesses for EAP provision and provide invaluable case supervision for Designated Safeguarding Leads.
I provide clinical supervision to counsellors and those working in other disciplines by working with theories of integrative & person-centred supervision as well as other models such as Shohet and Hawkins' 7 Eyed Model. This supports the supervisee by looking at their own systems, self-care and ways of working, helping them to maintain ethical and safe practice and ultimately ensure the needs of the client are being met.
My practice is based at:
Derwentside, 25 Town Street, Duffield, Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 4EH. Monday 1-5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 1-6.30pm (other times may be available). Free allocated parking on-site. Free on road parking opposite for 40 minutes until 6pm, no restrictions after that time.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute consultation (on the phone or in person) when we can discuss your current needs and expectations from counselling. It is also an ideal opportunity to answer any queries you may have. Full sessions are then for 50 minutes.

Hello and welcome to my directory profile. I hope you find all of the information you need, please contact me if you have any queries or would like to book an appointment.I am an experienced supervisor for student and qualified counsellors as well as those in other disciplines. I work with theories of integrative & person-centred supervision as well as other models such as Shohet and Hawkins' 7 Eyed Model. This supports the supervisee by looking at their own systems, self-care and ways of working, helping them to maintain ethical and safe practice and ultimately ensure the needs of the client are being met.
I appreciate how important my own supervision has been to me both personally and professionally throughout my counselling career and now enjoy having the opportunity to support fellow counsellors in the same way.
I also provide invaluable case supervision for Designated Safeguarding Leads due to my prior extensive working knowledge and experience in frontline safeguarding roles within statutory agencies.
