Availability
Just like any endeavour between two individuals, these are my needs that safeguard our work together.
I am always happy to discuss these with you and once we have agreed that we both abide by them.
Each session lasts for 60 minutes.
I work from two places being Bowdon near Altrincham and Tytherington near Macclesfield.
I offer daytime and evening sessions Monday to Friday.
I offer in person and online from both places.
I see individual adults (£60) and couples (£65).
I ask you to arrive and leave at the agreed booked appointment times. Sessions do not over run if you are late neither are they refunded. Weekly or regular attendance is required unless agreed otherwise. In your first session we will discuss and agree together if that is weekly or fortnightly. Therapy is an on-going process of exploration and reflection and your reflective time between sessions is as important as the sessions.
I am flexible to the day and time each session is held as we proceed in our work and we agree to maintain regular contact to sustain our therapeutic endeavour.
Your first session must be paid at the time you book your appointment. Subsequent sessions are payable in full on the day of your session or before you attend for therapy.
You agree to pay the full fee if you do not attend a session, or if you cancel without giving me a minimum 48 working hours’ notice, irrespective of the reason (e.g. flat tyre, family illness). E.g. a 10am appointment must be cancelled at the latest by 10am 48 hours prior.
My cancellation policy is to account for highly unusual events outside of your control.
We have agreed to meet regularly and I have provided and on-going space for you. Despite all the weight of responsibility that you may be carrying to meet your expectations to others, I ask clients to commit to make themselves and their space for therapy important to them.
When we are reaching our work end, we agree to talk to the other about this. An ‘ending session’ is then booked at a mutually convenient time.

How I work with you
With Transactional Analysis
I sensitively build relationship paying close attention to the relational gaps. These gaps arise from inconsistencies and mis-attunements within early relationships as you grew up. When exploring the unique structure of your personality, I delve, when opportune, into difficulties and stuck places… allowing space for these difficult feelings to take shape.
With Myself
I am patient, compassionate, accepting of you and your pace, tolerant and curiously challenging. I won’t collude with unhelpful ways though I will find a way in to explore these ways. I will use myself to authentically confront protective behaviours that resist engagement. I won’t be passive or create dependency.
With Mindfulness
I use the skill of Mindfulness for stress reduction, relief from anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation. Each client will develop their own understanding and experience of what mindfulness is for them.
Paying attention noticing sensations, affect, calmness, agitation, heaviness, tension, lightness or numbness is important in the search for self, meaning and love.
Practice description
When we first meet, I will listen to your difficulties and talk with you about what you want to achieve from your therapy. Most importantly, it’s about you and your choice of therapist. It is important that you feel comfortable and can imagine building a trusting and authentic relationship with me.
This first session will go a long way towards this and will give you a good sense as to what a session feels like and how it is different from any other conversational experience. You will have questions about confidentiality, fees and what happens if you have to cancel that I will be happy to answer plus anything else about your expectations of the therapeutic process.
All work between us is confidential, by your consent and appropriate to your needs.
For treatment to be successful, it is important for you to take an active role and be open to your reactions with me. We’ll tackle both thoughts and feelings, as we explore and set you on the road to recovering from anxiety, stress, depression and burnout.
You might have problems that have been given a name by your G.P such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive or catastrophic thinking, obsessive compulsive disorder, or PTSD. You might be suffering from unmanageable stress and anger, be it rage or repressed anger, or you may self-harm, have problems with sleep, addictions or eating issues. You may feel suicidal, lonely, despairing or empty, unlovable or unworthy.
You may feel dissatisfaction with life or have lost your direction or sense of purpose….a terrible sense of disconnection painfully weighing you down.
Therapy helps you to understand how you function and how you express your personality in terms of the way you sense, think, attribute meaning, feel and behave. The way you relate to yourself, and others becomes clearer, and your relationships will improve as you grow and change.
I am experienced and trained in helping my clients through your life difficulties and in supporting you to make changes in your lif
My first session
Just been 'getting by'?
Been thinking about talking to a therapist for a while and are apprehensive about calling?
You are not alone.
It's hard and difficult to open up long held experience that has been forgotten, surpressed, repressed over and over during the course of your life.
Your first session is your chance to get a feel if I'm the right one to begin that journey with.
I help with this by inviting you to share what brings you to see me.
It is part of living that you can have problems day to day in your relationships with your family, friends or those you work with. When these difficult experiences lead to anxiety or depression, relationship breakdown, obsessive ‘what if’ thinking, panic or traumatic memories from the past, then I can help you.
You may already be OK but still feel uncomfortable with certain relationships or situations and want to understand why you feel this discomfort? When we understand ourselves better and discover what makes us tick, we can develop better relationships and a richer experience of living.
If you’ve found yourself ….
- Feeling lost, stuck, searching for something
- Unheard and hurting
- Feeling nothing, un-motivated, no point to anything, having bad thoughts, overwhelmed with anxiety
- Feeling worthless, constantly stamping on yourself, tense, wary, mis-understood
then Therapy can help you.
Therapy facilitates change, enabling you to live fully in the present with energy and creativity. I can help you to embrace who you are with all your strengths and limitations and improve your life. If you are struggling with stress, depression, relationship issues or other problems, you don’t need to suffer alone. I work within a caring, compassionate, supportive and challenging relationship to form a trusting, explorative and collaborative therapeutic experience. I will help in identifying your current problems and how they affect your life and well being.
If you’re looking for Therapy and prefer to talk to me to choose, I offer a free 30-minute consultation.
