About me and my therapy practice
*** FREE INITIAL DISCOVERY CALL***
I offer a free 20 minute discovery call via zoom or by phone for us to connect and discuss your supervision needs.
MY APPROACH
I see supervision as a space for connection, reflection and growth, a place where we can meet to generate a shared understanding, compassion and awareness of your work with your clients. Working in the fields of both psychotherapy and Yoga therapy, I endeavour to bring a richness of experience and knowledge to the supervisory relationship. My approach is highly relational, collaborative, creative and intuitive.
Through the exploration of relational dynamics, transference and counter-transference and present moment somatic and energetic experiencing, supervision provides an opportunity to develop an integrated heart/mind awareness.
As an integrative supervisor, I draw upon a wide variety of counselling theories to inform my practice including psychodynamic, attachment theory, existentialism, humanistic, transpersonal and social constructivism.
MY EXPERIENCE
As a mind-body therapist specializing in anxiety, trauma, attachment and self actualisation, I have over 25 years experience working in private practice, psychiatric and forensic settings, the third sector and community clinics. Much of my organisational work has taken place in women's mental health agencies focusing on survivors of abuse.
Wanting to add a somatic aspect to my work and honouring my cultural roots, I am also a fully registered Yoga therapist, specialising in trauma and mental health. My own Yoga practice has allowed me to fully experience the deeply seated connection between mind, body and spirit and continues to be one of my greatest resources both personally and professionally.
I am accredited with BACP and registered with the International Association of Yoga Therapy.
Practice description
I welcome supervisees from diverse backgrounds practising in a variety of settings and informed by different modalities. Currently I work with individuals in private practice and offer group supervision within a number of organisations. I work with qualified and trainee counsellors, psychotherapists, Yoga therapists and Yoga teachers. I also work with others in the helping profession such as advocates and helpline workers.
I believe that good supervision promotes the wellbeing and safeguarding of clients along with attending to your professional and developmental needs. I aim to provide support, encouragement, guidance and resources to you whilst addressing an array of your clients' psychological, interpersonal, physical and spiritual issues.
At the heart of my practice lies a profound and genuine interest in fostering quality relationships with ourselves and with others that allows for honesty, openness, fearlessness and enhanced communication. Whilst my work is highly informed by psychodynamic and attachement theory and supported by the Seven Eyed model of supervision, I draw upon a number of other Western models of the psyche, Eastern philosophies of mind and neuroscientific research. This allows me to adopt an approach that combines traditional modes of talking therapy with somatic practices along with both modern and ancient wisdom.
MY FEE STRUCTURE
With the aim of enhancing accessibility, I offer a range of fees per 50 minute session, starting from £65, intended for trainee and newly qualified practitioners to £70/75 intended for those who are more established and experienced. 90 minute sessions are also possible and I am open to disucssing what may suit your practice best.
