About me and my therapy practice
There are many reasons why we may find ourselves considering accessing counselling support throughout our lives. You may have a clear sense of the support you are looking for and the difficulties you are facing. Alternatively, you may just feel in your gut that something is not right. Perhaps you are realising that having a better understanding of yourself, your relationships and the impact of your environment would help you live a more fulfilled life. I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues from anxiety, stress, trauma and grief to confusing thoughts, life transitions, depression and difficulties in relationships.
I am an integrative counsellor, working from a person-centred perspective while incorporating psychodynamic insights and CBT principles where relevant. I also use DNA-V principles in my work with young people where appropriate. I offer short term (6-12 sessions), longer term (12-24 sessions) and open-ended work (24+ sessions). Each session is 50 minutes.
I appreciate it can be very confusing trying to understand the different ways of working that therapists offer and what may be best for you. As well as offering further details on my website at www.motivevolve.com, I am happy to answer any questions you may have, either by email or via a 15-minute "Find out more" chat (by phone or Zoom).
For further details about me and how I work (including about my separate coaching practice), please visit my website: www.motivevolve.com.
Practice description
Face-to-face sessions take place in my private office space at Gander Down Barns, near Alresford, which is just off the A31 between Winchester and Alresford. This is a confidential and comfortable space in peaceful surroundings where you can value some time out to focus on you. There is plenty of free parking available. Further details can be found on my website www.motivevolve.com.
Online work takes place over Zoom and I send links to attend each session via email. It is important that you feel you have a safe and confidential space from which to attend these online sessions, to ensure that you are able to make full use of our time together.
My first session
In our first session, we will go through an assessment together where you can experience what it might be like to build a therapeutic relationship with me and I can get to know more about you and what has brought you to counselling. There is no obligation to continue beyond this first session, but if you feel happy to do so then we will agree an initial number of sessions and will meet on the same day at the same time each week.
I also offer a free 15-minute "Find out more" session via phone or Zoom for those who feel they would like to ask more questions before committing to an initial assessment session.
