About me and my therapy practice

I have over 10 years' experience working as a counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor.  Together we can work to help you overcome personal issues and difficulties so that you are enabled to experience a more contented way of being. We can explore both internal and external conflicts and look into where these might come from which can lead to insights, awareness and the opportunity for positive change.  You may be feeling anxious or depressed and not know why. Perhaps you have been bereaved or have experienced some other loss or trauma, past or present. It could be the end of a relationship, redundancy, retirement or a life-changing or chronic illness. It could be family difficulties, workplace bullying or you could just be feeling overwhelmed by life and unable to cope.

I am based in Central Eastbourne where I offer a comfortable room in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.  I believe the relationship we build together is very important as it will allow you to safely explore painful or difficult subjects you cannot, or do not wish, to discuss with anybody else.  I integrate into my person centred approach other approaches which may help with your process and enable me to provide you with support which is as unique as you are.  Sometimes finding the words may be hard so we can, if you choose, work creatively using objects, stones and sand tray.

Practice description

I work from a comfortable room in Eastbourne Town Centre within a five minute walk from the railway station, bus stops and car parking where I see clients, supervisees, groups and couples, in person.  I also offer online therapy using the Zoom platform as well as therapy sessions by telephone.

My first session

Following initial contact from you I offer a free, up to 30 minute telephone call to all prospective clients which is an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves and for me to explain how I work. I also offer a reduced fee of £30 for our first full session of 50 minutes where we can get to know one another and where I will ask you some questions and take some notes and you can ask any questions you may have. About me and my therapy practice

I have over 10 years' experience supervising individuals and groups in my private practice and within the charitable sector as well as private organisations. I can work with you in my calm and comfortable room in Eastbourne town centre or online using the Zoom platform or a combination of both. I offer concessions to counsellors in training.

I initially qualified as a supervisor with Cruse Bereavement Care and went on to obtain my Diploma in Supervision from the Link Centre.  My aim is to offer supervisees an encouraging and nurturing environment where we can work collaboratively; a safe space where I hope you will feel confident to bring your work with clients and anything that concerns you without fear of feeling judged or being shamed. Although there will always be challenges when working in a therapeutic environment, my aim is to facilitate and guide you and to help you to grow and develop within your practice and I will always encourage you to celebrate your achievements.

I am mainly influenced by Inskipp & Proctor's Normative, Formative, Restorative approach as well as by Hawkins & Shohet's seven-eyed process model and the operational model of Mazzetti.

Practice description

I offer clinical supervision to trainees and qualified counsellors in groups or as individuals.

Although the primary purpose of supervision is to monitor and safeguard the interests of the client and ensure that ethical standards are maintained, it is also to support and assist you, the supervisee, in your professional development.
