About me and my therapy practice
You may have a specific reason for considering counselling, or you may have a sense that things do not feel right without being able to articulate why.
Making the decision to start counselling may bring stress, fear, relief or excitement.
When we think about events and relationships from the past, we can begin to understand why we think, feel and behave the way we do in the present. This can allow us to understand ourselves better, how we relate to the world and those around us.
Exploring yourself in this way can help us identify and work through some of the confusion together. Committing to the process, which can be a difficult one, can be the most effective way of transforming yourself and your life.
Practice description
The way I work is to create a warm and compassionate space where you feel safe enough to openly share the things you may have difficulty expressing. We will explore your inner world together and try to make sense of it by linking the present to experiences of the past. My role is not to impose my opinions on you but to enable you to clear some of the confusion and break down the barriers that are preventing you from feeling good in yourself.
My first session
An initial consultation gives us a chance to meet and discuss what you want to gain from the therapy. It gives us both the opportunity to see if we would be a good fit before we begin working together. I offer a free 5-minute phone call to help you decide if you would like to have an initial consultation with me.
