Seeing a counsellor gives a young person a space where they can “grow and learn about who you are and who you want to be”.
That’s the powerful message from our member Leanne Barrow, who highlights the benefits of school counselling in a video recorded for Children’s Mental Health Week.
The week runs from 7 to 13 February 2022 and this year's theme is Growing Together.
In her video, Leanne, who is a counsellor in Scotland, also talks about how she’d have benefited from school counselling, and how it’s important for children and young people to have a space where they’re accepted and not judged.
