We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Phil James as our Chief Executive Officer.
Phil is an experienced leader of membership organisations and will officially start in the role on Thursday 14 December.
He was most recently CEO of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
At CIEH he led significant projects including the launch of a new digitally supported registration scheme. He was also an advocate for the environmental health profession - with members, regulators, UK government departments and international stakeholders.
His previous roles have included CEO of the Institute of Leadership and Management, Group CEO of the Mineral Products Qualification Council, and Assistant CEO of the British Association of Social Workers.
Our Chair Natalie Bailey said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Phil as our new CEO. Phil will bring stability to BACP after a period of challenge and change, and will drive forward our five-year strategy, and the vital work we do for our members, the profession, and the public.
“He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, and is passionate about listening to and working with members and being an advocate for the profession.”
“The Board and I are excited to be working with Phil.”
Phil has recorded a video to introduce himself.
