Following an exceptional and unprecedented response, we’ve reached the maximum number of applications for our pilot bursary scheme.
The scheme, which was announced at the AGM in November, aims to encourage underrepresented groups into the counselling and psychotherapy professions by providing financial support for training.
We’ve been delighted and overwhelmed by the interest in the bursaries and hadn’t expected to reach the application limits this early. While applications for the 10 bursaries available in the pilot have now closed, the response has made it clear how great a demand there is for such support.
Following our first successful wave of bursaries, the pilot scheme is now undergoing a planned internal review. Once this review is complete, we will be re-opening the scheme. Any information regarding the next wave of bursaries, including an anticipated launch date, will be posted on BACP website in due course.
If you’ve submitted an application for the pilot scheme, you can find full details of the next steps on our Bursary web pages.
