A revised version of our Online and Phone Therapy Framework is now available to support members’ practice and training.
The OPT Framework will support members who work with clients online or by phone in their practice or training and will help to inform training standards.
The original framework was first published in February 2016, and since then online and phone counselling has changed as technology has evolved and new platforms have been developed.
The Covid-19 pandemic and the requirement for many of our members to move to online or phone counselling emphasised to us the need for the framework and curriculum to be updated.
Given the need to support members and their work as quickly as possible during the pandemic, the OPT Framework has been revised and updated with support from an external expert reference group..
We now plan to review the curriculum which will be published later this year and we’ll also start a further review of the evidence base to ensure the Online and Phone Therapy Competence Framework is underpinned by contemporary research.
We’re asking our members to take part and contribute to that review via our feedback questionnaire.
The questionnaire is live until May 12.
