A BACP accredited youth counselling service received a welcome boost thanks to the fundraising efforts of a marathon runner.
Dentist Rachel Langridge raised more than £5,000 at this year’s London Marathon in support of YiS Youth Counselling Service.
Gareth Eglinton-Pacitti, BACP member and CEO of the Milton Keynes-based charity, said: “The money is huge for us.
“It will enable us to provide free counselling to more than 40 young people in Milton Keynes this year.
“We’re really grateful to Rachel for her efforts. It’s great to have someone running the marathon in support of us and to help promote the work that we do.”
YiS Youth Counselling Service provides counselling for people aged 11 to 21 who live, learn or work in Milton Keynes. Counselling is delivered in community settings.
“We know from the feedback we get that our service makes a real difference to the lives of local young people,” Gareth added.
