View the on-demand service for this event, which aims to increase your knowledge and provide updates on the latest developments in adoption counselling. This change in guidance affects those working in England but theoretical content may be of interest to those working across all four nations.

During the session, you’ll gain insights into the lived experience of an adoptive client and understand what these changes may mean for clients in the future.
The event is aimed at all counsellors and practitioners who’d like to commence working with adult adopted clients (now or in the future) or continue the therapeutic relationship if adoption related issues arise in therapy.

It may also be relevant for training providers as we’ll discuss what’s next for BACP in this area. There are plans to develop an adoption competence framework, training curriculum to support training providers and good practice guidance resources in the future.

How to access the on-demand service

After booking, you'll find the on-demand service on our on-demand services page, available to watch until until Monday 10 March 2024.
