Muslim trainee therapists' experiences of counselling and psychotherapy training in the context of their Islamic faith – an interpretive phenomenological analysis

My name is Chris Sleapwood and I am a Muslim psychotherapy trainee at a university in the West Midlands seeking to explore how Muslim trainees experience professional counselling and psychotherapy training in the UK, and how they make sense of this in the context of their Islamic faith.

Participation involves taking part in a virtual semi-structured interview via Microsoft Teams, lasting between 60-90 minutes, where the researcher will guide an exploration of the topic of the study to facilitate personal reflection and discussion on any relevant themes identified.
