Terms and conditions
We'll email an acknowledgement of receipt of your abstract after the closing date for submissions – please remember to check your spam or junk folders. If you don't receive an acknowledgement within seven days of when you believe you submitted your abstract, email us at research.conference@bacp.co.uk
By submitting to the BACP Research Conference, presenters agree to be scheduled at any time on Friday or Saturday, 16 and 17 May 2025. If successful, you'll be given the opportunity to indicate a preference, but we can't guarantee we can accommodate this on the programme.
Please be aware that if you’re invited to present at the conference there is a registration fee for yourself and your co-presenters. The registration fees for 2025 are still to be confirmed, however it's anticipated that online attendance will attract a lower fee than in-person conference attendance. Conference registration must be completed by Wednesday 16 April 2025, or your invitation to present will be withdrawn.
Following the peer review process, acceptance of an invitation to present is a firm commitment by you to attend and participate at the conference. If you're unable to present having accepted the invitation, let us know as soon as possible so we can minimise disruption to the programme. Any refunds are subject to our refund policy.
Data protection
If you present at the conference, your name, the names of your co-presenters and co-authors, your email address (if permitted), affiliation and workplace/and or place of study, will appear on your abstract, in the PDF abstract booklet and on our website. We reserve the right to amend and correct spellings and errors in abstracts used for the conference.
BACP is committed to complying with the GDPR and the DPA 2018. We only use the information you give us for the purposes specified on this form and laid out in detail in the BACP Privacy Notice. We will only hold the information for as long as we need it to carry out the task for which it was given. You have rights under current legislation to limit or prevent the processing of your data and to have access to this information. We never sell your personal information to third parties but may need to share your details with suppliers who work on our behalf. We bear no responsibility for any breach of copyright.
Agreement letter and media consent form
If you’re invited to present your work at the conference by joining the livestream, we’ll ask that you sign a separate agreement letter. If you’re invited to join the conference and you opt to submit a pre-record to feature in the event and in the on-demand service, we’ll ask that you complete a media consent form which we’ll send you before the event.
Statement of respect and wellbeing
We ask everyone joining the event to adopt the commitments in our Statement of respect and wellbeing which outlines our aim to create a space where everyone feels welcomed, respected and safe, as well as suggested collective commitments for all attendees to follow at our online and face to face events.
