Patti Wallace considers the impact of shame in clinical supervision. The session will begin with reflection on situations that can result in feelings of shame in supervisees, how shame can prevent appropriate use of supervision and how shame can impede supervisee learning. Patti offers insights from her experiences of working in different countries and cultures regarding the impact of shame and how it can be shifted from an impediment to development to a stimulus for professional and personal growth.
