The service has been around since 1994, supporting individuals with eating disorders, their carers/loved ones, and organisations (such as schools, universities and places of work).

Contract: Student Placement

Hours: Variable

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (e.g. office / home working)

About the Role:

Caraline is a Charity with 30 years of experience delivering evidence-based therapy to those living with eating disorders and their carers.  Eating Disorders are complex mental health conditions; early intervention and prevention using the leading evidence-based treatment are crucial to preventing long-term physical and psychological distress.

We are looking to add to our team of Counsellors on placement. The role requires a trainee counsellor working to level 4 of a Counselling Diploma (preferably at Year 2) looking to broaden their knowledge on eating disorders and be trained to deliver evidence-based therapy.

You will provide both individual counselling and group sessions. You will receive weekly individual supervision from an MBACP (Accred) therapist.  You will also have access to supervision from a leading academic in the field of eating disorders.

Once trained in evidence-based therapy, you will provide 3-4 hours of counselling per week and associated admin time. You will also be required to attend mandatory weekly supervision for 1 hour per week (Remote/in-person).

We request that placement counsellors commit to one year to ensure consistency with our clients, as some clients require up to 40 weekly sessions.
