BACP Member Rates Insurance Scheme

Towergate Professional Risks is one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist liability insurance to professionals such as Psychologists, Personnel and Human Resources Consultants, Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Complementary Therapists.

At the request of BACP, Towergate Professional Risks has been providing complete professional liability insurance to members* of the Association since 1991. Counsellors and psychotherapists, like so many other professionals, are increasingly at risk from accusations of professional negligence. BACP believes that professional liability insurance is the best way to protect its members against spurious and genuine claims and recommends that all individual practitioners carry such cover. Towergate Professional Risks has arranged a policy that is available to BACP members at advantageous premiums. This policy provides some of the widest coverage available and includes most of the liability insurances that members may need, such as professional indemnity, libel and slander, public liability and product liability.

The scheme also incorporates a 24-hour legal helpline facility for members to seek professional advice on any personal, employment, tax or legal problem.

Premiums include Insurance Premium Tax and may be paid by cheque or direct debit on an annual basis. Full details of this BACP members’ scheme is included in the members’ first mailing, Welcome to Membership.
